Sometimes when people see or hear a language they do not understand it scares them. Muslims stare fear and mistrust in the face almost daily. With these bus signs we are saying that even though we fear what we don't understand we are able to overcome that fear by learning about others. We can rethink bias, but it starts with learning about our neighbors.

Check out a few of the comments we are seeing in our feedback section. We have also had some media attention on the subject - it seems that everyone wants to talk about bias! Here is one example:

These Arabic signs are doing just what they should: provoking us to talk about our fears and our hopes. Even negative comments can be a starting point for discussion and growth. Love your neighbor pre-emptively.

The Islamic concept of recollection is similar to the Evangelical Christian idea of being "born again." Both see religion reminding us of a long-forgotten close relationship to God and ask us to embrace it. That is hip to know!
